We’ve talked a lot here on Modular Musings about our work earlier this summer on ABC’s hit television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We spent more than a week working with the Extreme Makeover team, and that hard work will finally be seen by America when the episode airs on Sunday, September 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

The project was so big – the Extreme Makeover Facebook page describes it as the show’s “biggest build to date” – that ABC decided to make the special two-hour episode the show’s season premiere.

In true Extreme Makeover fashion, plenty of notable names showed up at the site to help build the home for Boys Hope Girls Hope Baltimore, including Raven Symone, Katy Perry, and cast members from the ABC show Modern Family. The Extreme Makeover team of Ty Pennington, Paul DeMeo, Xzibit, Jillian Harris, and Michael Moloney was also on hand to pitch in.

Excel CEO Steve Scheinkman is an acknowledged long time fan of the show and has said that while the task of building a new home in a week “could be a bit intimidating,” the Extreme Makeover show will demonstrate the time-saving benefits of modular construction “and will certainly change people’s perceptions of what ‘modular’ really is.”
